Trinity Health

Another “Thank You” to Trinity Health for their continued support of Mission for Area People’s Medical Support Fund as well as our Healthy Living Food Pantry. This is the third year that MAP has received funding for our Medical Support Fund and for our Food Pantry through the Sister Simone Courtade Fund, otherwise knows as the SIP fund.

Mission for Area People receives over one hundred phone calls each month from people in need of various medical assistance. On an average monthly basis, we provide medical service to about 68 people per month, and MAP’s average monthly pharmacy bill is $2,500.00.

The MAP Medical Fund provides a valuable “bridge” for those needing emergency assistance. Thank you for helping build this “bridge”!

Community Foundation for Muskegon County

Mission for Area People applied for a grant through the Julia Hackley Fund and was awarded funding for our Medical Support Fund.

The majority of funding for the medical fund comes by way of fund raising, individuals, and church donations, but it is always an added bonus when the Community Foundation recognizes the importance of the work that MAP is doing in our community and how important the Medical Support Fund is to the uninsured and under-insured.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan

Mission for Area People (MAP) proudly announces that it has received a Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Michigan Foundation Grant for $50,000 to enhance its Medical Support Fund. Matching dollars of $5,000 from the Julia Hackley Fund of the Community Foundation for Muskegon County and $7,500 from Access Health provides MAP with $62,000 in funds to be used over the next two years. This not only provides additional prescription and other medical support, but also expands into dental support for families in need in Muskegon County.
