Mission for Area People may be able to help you during this time of uncertainty. Thanks to our community partners, we are able to assist with various needs. MAP’s staff will be available Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to answer your questions. You may reach us at 231-733-9672 to speak with us regarding food pantry, rental assistance, medical and pharmacy needs, or other requests.

As always, you may phone the Community Assess Information line (CALL 2-1-1), the three digit help line. This “one-stop” call center has the latest up to date information on other community resources such as Feeding America Food Truck schedule and COVID-19 benefits available.

Families are to receive School Meals at Home

Michigan is First State to Provide Food to Families Affected by School Closings Caused by COVID-19

Families with children who received free, reduced-cost lunches at school qualify for new program

Lansing, MICH. Michigan has become the first state in the country to gain federal approval of a program that will provide nutritious food to children who were affected by school closings due to COVID-19.

The Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer Program (P-EBT) provides temporary funding to address emergency food needs and avert financial hardship (see full press release here) P-EBT COVID 19 food assistance.
